Great job Eva! Highly recommend to anyone willing to have an unforgettable experience while in London. In addition to expert knowledge, she has a passion for what she does. Thank you!

Amazing experienced guides Guidelines made my whole visit to London! They offer knowledgeable guides who are intimately familiar with the area and very enthusiastic. This was my first time visiting the UK and I was able to get the most out of my experience thanks to Sophie and Hugh. We toured the city of London, tackled 3 castles, ventured to Oxford and Blenheim Palace, and much more. My guides could answer any question asked of them and provided fun facts as we maneuvered through the day. They were able to keep to the perfect schedule to complete everything on my wish list with the allotted time. I definitely wouldn't have been able to see as many sites without their help. Highly recommend guides from Guidelines to anyone trying to make the most out of a short amount of time or simply wanting to learn more about a topic/place. Thank you, Sophie and Hugh! It wouldn't have been the same experience without you!

"Working with Guidelines to Britain was a true pleasure from beginning to end. They were very helpful in arranging an itinerary that was age and length appropriate for our family. Sam was our guide and he was not only, nice, knowledgeable and fun, but extremely creative also. He turned a typical cloudy and rainy London day into a cheerful and bright experience, minus the picnic!"

Our contact with Guidelines began a number of months ago through an email introduction to George by Daniel one of the Concierge at the Sofitel St. James. George responded immediately and we started planning.
My partner has been researching his English genealogy for years and as a 70th birthday present we came to London to “see what we could see.” I explained to George that we already had extensive background information dating back to the 1100’s but wanted someone who could bring it all to life for us. George said he had in mind a historian and very experienced guide named Anne. We sent the detailed info which my partner had well organized and after a few back and forth clarifications and planning George confirmed that Anne would meet us at 9am on the appointed day.
As scheduled Anne met us at our hotel and for the next five hours took us on the most informative, enlightening and fun trip into Chuck’s past. She filled in all the gaps and we came to learn that Chucks 11th great uncle was in fact Lord Mayor of London twice in the 1500’s, was President of Bartholomew Hospital and helped create the Royal Exchange which predated The Bank of England!
Anne was like Mary Poppins on steroids. She clearly has a passion for history and there was quite literally no question she couldn’t answer. Her knowledge and great energy made for a remarkably rewarding experience. We would not hesitate to recommend George, Anne and Guidelines for anyone looking for a personalized, professional and utterly perfect experience.
This was the tour of a lifetime!!

Fantastic experience, very clear supervision of British history. Lots of kings and queens and betrayal. Westminster abbey where every tomb was unveiled, MI6 where James waved us bye, the City where Romans subsequently Saxons and Normans ruled, and finally the extraordinary views we enjoyed before being brought back to our hotel. Definitely a MUST!

We only had a few days in London so we decided to take a 7 hour private walking tour. Simon our guide met us promptly at our hotel & took us on a whirlwind day visiting all the sights we wanted to see. He knew exactly where to stand to get us the best viewing of "changing of the guard" & we were able to "skip the line" at other attractions. Simon was extremely knowledgeable & knew the history of all the venues around London. Simon was one of the best guides we've ever had & made our trip to London very memorable. I would highly recommend using "Guidelines to Britain" when visiting London & the surrounding areas of Britain.

We treated a newly wed couple from the USA to a one day guided tour that was completely arranged via the Internet. They had one full day in London before starting a honeymoon cruise. George and others at Guidelines worked patiently with me over several weeks to work out the details. The groom had been to London many times but this was the Bride's 1st visit. They told us last week that the tour was the Highlight of the entire holiday. Ruth, their Tour Guide, could not have been more charming, informative and productive for a phenomenal day. Many thanks to everyone at Guidelines to Britain.

I took my nieces to London last week and decided at the last minute to book a guide. George could not have been more helpful. And he gave us Geoff, who was perfect. He knew his history and was delightful with my nieces. He planned the day around what we wanted to see. We had a wonderful time. I must say, family-owned businesses are much more service-oriented than the big ones. You won't go wrong with this group!

We used Guidlelines to Britain in November 2016. Mary and George set up the tours and help their clients via email. We were fortunate to have Hugh as our guide in November. So when our plans brought us to London again in June 2017, we immediately contacted Guidelines. We were traveling with our granddaughter who was on her first European adventure. Of course, we knew that Hugh would be the key to a very successful trip. We did three day tours, The Cotswolds and Oxford, a London City Tour, and visits to Hampton Court Palace and Windsor Castle. Hugh was amazing. He knows art, history, general information and is just a pleasure to travel with. He made sure that our granddaughter felt comfortable and free to ask any and all questions. We travel alot and always use private guides. Hugh is not just the best guide, he is now, also, a friend.

While spring break vacationing in London with my 14 year old son, hired Guidelines to Britain give give us the Highlights of London tour on first day, followed the next day with a focus on the military at the RAF museum. Had a wonderful time with an experienced, thoughtful, knowledgeable guide. Hugh arrived at our flat ahead of time, provided both a driving/walking tour of key attractions, and had many personal stories to share that made it interesting for both myself and my son. Hugh would watch us closely as we would tour museums or public spaces to anticipate what caught our eye and he would interject stories and background based on our interests. He made a special attempt to keep my son engaged which I appreciated and his depth and breadth of knowledge of London and its history made our tours very interesting.
I would engage their services again (next time with my spouse!) if I get the opportunity.
In addition, we found out about the company via web searches -- we live in the USA. Our tours were setup by email exchange with the main office -- it was easy and flexible and took away many of my concerns about how to plan a trip to London. The tours kicked off our week there and gave us a much needed context and background for our remaining stay.
Nice job, GtB!!!
